Picnic tables, a couple nice big shade trees, and shrubs to plant alongside the wooden fence in front of the barn to create a nice, outdoor break area for volunteers and visitors.
ESS NEEDS A (BETTER) TRUCK
Work truck needed - can be older, but must be in good condition - 3/4 ton, strong enough to pull a large, heavy horse trailer.
We also really could use a flatbed trailer for hauling hay.
Office / participants / volunteers
Safety helmets, particularly kids' sizes small and extra small.
Horse books - training, care, etc.
Small video camera to record our events and history (THANKS, CHRISTOPHER REYNOLDS FOUNDATION, INC!)
Youth-sized saddle (THANKS, SARAH!)

Volunteers Wanted!
Volunteers welcome to help with horse care, cleaning, programs, etc. at ESS. Join the wonderful volunteers who help make things happen for our horses, our kids and our programs! Help is needed in all areas, including office work. Lots of outdoor work, indoor work, horse work, special events - if you have a talent or skill to share, we most likely need it! No horse experience necessary. We will teach you how to scoop poop, brush horses, and everything in between. E-mail or stop out.
We mostly need help on our open days, which are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays mid October through Memorial Day weekend, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and weekends Memorial Day weekend through mid October.
If you are interested in assisting with the equine assisted activities with disabled persons, volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and on Wednesdays for the therapeutic riding program. Call for details.
